Our property Four Towers Apartments located in the heart of the ancient town Rab is a family owned business established back in fifties of last century when my Grandparents bought the house from Dr. Pezelj who was the major of Rab at that time. The payment was not easy and they had to sell a property in Zagreb to buy it. Together with the house they got a tenant who had a long term contract to live in the house. After he left my grandmother started renting the property to the tourists which were mostly from Austria and Germany at that time. My grandmother Ana Sandalic ex Bauer originally Austrian from Wiena was a German native speaker so communication was not an issue. At that time there were very few apartments on the rest of the island apart the ones in the city center. During the summer the whole family used to sleep at the attic where the premises of today’s Four Towers Apartment are. No floors were divided, so entrance for the whole house was at the location where the entrance of Apartment Peter is today.

In 2015 when we bought the additional big apartment (Santa), we came to an idea to separate every floor and build additional stairs, so every single floor has their own privacy and entrance. The project of refurbishing was finalized in 2016 so we managed to put three out of six units in the business while in 2017 we were in the business with all six units.

We are still investing in the property in order to continually improve the quality of our services. Back in 1973 my father opened a Caffe Bar Sanda which was one of the most famous clubs on the island for a long time. Sanda is also part of a house at the lowest level in street called ‘Donja Ulica’. In 2016 after expiration of a long term rental contract we decided to close Sanda after more then 40 years in the business and convert it into a fancy Shabby Chic Souvenir shop called Old Spoon. Old Spoon is a unique jewelry manufacturer and seller on the island worthwhile visiting . The premises of Sanda were used before as a House Laundry.
